These hoodies that zip down over the kid’s face are strangely disconcerting.

Scary Five Year Old

Here Gus wandered up to the campfire in our backyard and I caught him as he walked through the smoke and some drifting ash.

  1. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. That’s a great setup (14-24mm is huge!). I can’t wait to show my wife this one in particular –

    Breathtaking.

  2. Your pics are amazing. What camera/lenses do you use? I used to live near North Bend, and I’ve never seen beauty like the way you capture it.

    • I appreciate it. I’m using a Nikon D700 – the best camera I’ve ever owned – along with a couple of very nice Nikon lenses. The super wide angle shots are with a Nikon 14-24mm lens – a very large piece of glass! For the portraits (including the rascal in the hoodie), I use the Nikon 24-70 2.8G or Nikon 105mm Micro, both of which are outstanding for that purpose (e.g., very nice bokeh – the soft out-of-focus areas). Thanks for checking out my site.
